first lets start with my system, asus p5qc mobo, 4 gigs ddr2 corsair ram, 160gig raptor, q6600, vista ultimate (updated .netframework), 800 watt psu and a 1gb powercolor 4870. i just put the new mobo and card into my rig and installed all other drivers and updates without problem except when i got to the ccc update and it all went to hell. it ran system check fine, installed everything, until it got to the actual device driver and my screen flickered only to come back saying inf file was not found. i redownloaded the drivers from ati then twice from the manufacturer website with same results every time, i ran drive sweeper and ccleaner and got rid of all old driver files and still the same. ive read a few things about downloading older drivers with the inf file in them and then trying to install the new ones over them and ive had no success with it myself. then i read about how its a problem with the inf file itself so i went looking for it and i cant find it. from what i have read this is a very common problem but i couldnt seem to find a hotfix for it. if anyone has a hotfix or any advice it would be much appreciated. thank you.

just a follow up, after arguing with ati over it not being a hardware issue for a few emails they finally gave me an idea that i had not previously thought of, i went into control panel and device manager and opened display drivers found the vid card and right clicked to update drivers, then pick manually locate the file on your computer and it should all work out fine, still cant get ccc to run on start up but thats another batch of problems.
