Can't find my hard drive

When I turn on my computer it doesn't show that I have a hard drive..I have scan for virus, no virus..I have tried to fdisk but it tells me there are none. It is making a noise like it's turning or something..Please help if you can...

Try if you have two HDD, to see if the one with the system is Master and the other one is Slave. If you only have on cd try to see if it is Master, and If that doesn't help try to format.
To see what commands you shoud use to format through DOS see the Microsoft page.

I only have 1 hard drive...it won't let me format.. it saying there is no hard drive.. also I have taken the hd out and put it back in and still nothing...
