OS: Windows XP
CPU/Ram: pentium4 2.3 gig
Product: Nec / Powermate eco

OK, I have looked everywhere for these drivers. I really only need the Ethernet and Video. This powermate eco is impossible to find the drivers. I tried NEC, I tried MSinfo and cant locate it. I searched the web far and wide. I even tried to look at the card itself, but cant see anything. This is a older pc that is one unit. (pc and monitor together). I have also tried many of those driver download sites and no one seems to have it. Any suggestions, help,

thanks,

Looks like nec have a terrible support site(reminds me of intel's site) and only have an audio drive available for download for the eco.

If you can get online with this machine you could try doing a windows update in "advanced mode" to see if they have the drivers available under the hardware category. Installing a temporary nic or modem that you can find drivers for may help with this.

Failing that it comes down to the messy business of either trying drivers from other powermate models in the hope they work or opening up the case, identifying the main chips and searching up the part numbers(the nic is the best bet) to see what you can find and attempt to install. Try and error, but mainly error.

Unless of course someone has a link or a better idea.....

Thanks, I think you are right. this is what it comes down to. I think I might try some different drivers. Mostly I just wanted to make sure I checked everywhere for them. Much appreciated for you comments.

You may also want to try out a system information utility of some kind and the windows/microsoft update catalog may also be of some interest.

Here is a system info utility that may help:

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/PC-Wizard-Release-Download-7769.html

Run it and report back what is say under network card and video card.

... this should help but to download [non-members] the option is to view a series of "ad's" and they seem to have "thrown in" extra ones as of late, it'll be a case of scrolling down and pressing "skip", then at the end of this spam bombardment one has to validate a code then the download will succeed !!

... click the "file name"

... maybe there are one or two you might need

... ps ... non member
