I had to reformat my hard drive. Now I cant' connect to the internet. When I go into device manager, there is a yellow checkmark by other devices, sub categories ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller and SM bus controller.
When I purchased my new hard drive from Dell last year, I had to call them to get the drivers I needed, but unfortunately I didn't keep a copy of those drivers. I have been on their website and downloaded drivers, but to no avail. I have a BCM V.92 56K voicemodem installed on my desktop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Your on the right path.
You need the drivers from the Dell website (FYI, it's best to search for drivers using your service tag, rather than model number. The reason you do this, is so the system knows exactly what hardware came with your PC, since there often are many choices, even within each specific model. For example, the Dimension 4550 came with one of 2 different Ethernet controllers).
If you've installed these and you still have a yellow check mark next to it in device manager, then you need to uninstall it there first, so windows doesn't try to do it on it's own. In device manager, right click on the device and choose uninstall. BEFORE RESTARTING, install the drivers using the file you've downloaded for each device. Do this one at a time, preferably.
Good luck!~~Dylan
