I am having quite a bit of trouble with getting this camera to work with this computer. I have a Canon A85 camera, and it used to work flawlessly with my computer. Recently, however, there have been some problems. When I plug the camera in to the computer, it doesn't do anything. It used to pop up the camera wizard. So I uninstalled the driver, etc. etc. and reinstalled everything. Same problem. At this point I have gone through the BIOS a few times, reinstalled the USB drivers, done a system restore to when the driver worked, tried a different camera from canon (same problem). These cameras work with other computers no problem. One interesting note: when I plug the camera into the computer, and go into the device manager, it shows the camera as a "Digital Still Camera" with a little yellow exclamation point. In the properties it lists the problem as: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)." No matter how many times I do an uninstall, plugging in the camera leads to the same discovery of the new hardware, and then this problem. I feel like I have used up all my tricks with this one, I'm stumped. Any ideas? thanks
