Here is my problem. I was supposed to reinstall my WinXp and rebotted my system using CDROM support <I used win98(bootable CD)>. and when i tried to format my C: using the command format c: its getting started at 0% and waits for a minute and says "The Format has been terminated". Then i restarted my PC using HDD support its giving the message "No bootable device insert proper boot device".
But my harddisk (SATA) is getting detected in
BIOS. What really i have to do to format my C: and install WINXP ?

Use your
a) original Windows XP installation disc (with the driver CD and possibly a floppy disc with more drivers for your hardware) or
b) use a vendor supplied recovery disc (that has the drivers your hardware needs) to reinstall Win XP.If you use a Windows 98 install disc it is unlikely you will have the drivers you need, plus if you want Win XP, you will still have to go through that installation. Your SATA drivers will need to be installed during the Win XP installation (be vigilant and watch for the F6 prompt at the bottom of the screen to install SCSI and RAID drivers, only short time to hit F6).
For more detailed instructions, look for the question "How do I install Windows XP on an SATA hard drive?" on this webpage http://www.logicsupply.com/faq
The Windows XP installation disc should be able to format the drive with the SATA driver for it loaded.
Good luck.
