I have a Promise Ultra133 TX2 IDE controller card. I attached a CD-ROM and a DVD-ROM to it because my montherboard(my machine is an IBM server) has only one available IDE connection which is unfortunately damaged for unknown reason.
Everything works great - except that i can no longer boot from the CDROM or DVDROM which is a great inconvenience when installing operation systems. I tried to enter my montherboard bios setup but i can't find any option to start from the controller. I think that's because the bios has no built in driver for the controller and I don't think IBM will write a new bios just for me. However when booting up i do see a message from the controller telling me that " a bootable cd detected" but that's it. There's no option for me there to start from it.
So is there any possible solution for the computer to be able to boot up from the CDROM or the DVDROM attached to the controller?
