Subject: Backup Software and CDRW Device Drivers |
Comment: My Retrospect Express has never worked properly. I got it about a week ago and this is the problem. When I go to execute an immediate backup and hit the really execute box OK. it says that no storage devices found. I am trying to use a CDRW drive. My CD Burner is ACER CRW 84321A ATAPI 8x4x32. I should say that I have not been able to get any backup software to work. When I was trying to use EZ CD creator I kept getting a blue screen error when windows 98 SE was starting up that said. Windows The 32 Bit device driver CDRPW (01) + 0000AD23 has attempted to use a system service which is not loaded. It may be possible to continue normally. I have a Dell V400c Celeron 400Mhz and have 288Mb of RAM. I use Hotburn Pro V2 for normal burning uses. After checking the help section in the user's manual for RE, I thought that maybe it's an inappropriate device driver that is loading. I am having a problem because my backup software Retrospect Express is not able to load its' own device driver because some other software is inappropriately loading a device driver. In my search for a good backup software, I installed and uninstalled lots of software. At the moment, as far as I can tell, I only have Retrospect and Hotburn Pro V2 installed. How do I determine what device drivers are being loaded and which ones I need or want. Dave
