Audio problem!!!

I don't know what are the problems of my desktop. B4 that i can use WMP to play the music, but now can't. My friend did help me settle it b4, but after a few days,can't play again!!! After that had downloaded VLC media player, at first it still ok. But now can't no sound at all. Stil can play it, but no sound at all. Anyone can help me to solve this problem...thanks....what should i do now?????

Look in Device Manager for an entry with a Yellow exclamation Mark, let us know..
