I am trying to install an updated version of my video driver but it won't install. It is a ATI Xpress 1150 chipset and every time I try to install the new Catalyst driver I get the following message: "Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. Setup will not exit." This message is followed by one more, as follows: "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup." You guys have any idea's about what the problem could be? Thanks guys.

Remove all instances of ATi software from add/remove programs and any Graphics cards listed in Device Manager, reboot.

Windows should install a basic driver on reboot, CANCEL if Add Hardware Wizard pops up.

Install correct ATi Driver.............

Download Drivercleaner 1.5, it is still free. Run program from safe mode, it will remove all traces of ATI drivers. Restart comp and install appropriate ATI drivers.
Just remember that sometimes the newest graphics driver will not necessarily work the best. I have number of 2 and 3 year old ATI products that run much better on older drivers.

Same problem but driverclean doesn't help. PC will not now even detect ATI card. Any clues?
