c'mon this is a common error: "zero display service error"

I did every possible thing to get the display driver working but everything failed.

my previous card a 9600 PRO has been replaced by my new X1600PRO but i get several errors.

all have to do with the drivers installation.
like "try to install your standard VGA driver first" or something....

please help! i want to get it working so i can overclock in the future or whatever problems i run in to.. thanks in advance

Prior to install the new card go into SAFE MODE and remove all traces of the previous card in Device Manager and drivers in Add/remove software.

Shut down, insert new card, boot up and XP will find new hardware, just except what it says.

Then go to ATi and download and install latest available driver package......

but the new card is already in it so what u are saying is i HAVE to put the old card in install the other drives then delete those drivers in safe mode and reinstall the new card then XP will find the new hardware (latest driver package is already @ my pc) uhm with except u mean accept? where are u from? maybe we can talk in our own language otherwise never mind and thanks anyway ill try the safemode part because i tried to delete the files manually because DC (driver cleaner) wasent working.

thanks...

If it's so simple, why haven't you figured it out yet?

You keep posting about the same thing - it might be time to 'buy a vowel'

You appear to be 'one of those' posters - you get one *insurmountable* problem which you are never able to resolve, so you just keep posting it here there & everywhere (your 'little life' notwithstanding)

It's been more than a month - either call & pay a technician (or other grownup) to fix it or else move on to a more rewarding hobby

Now tha AMD has taken over ATI ,the support for many products is non exsistant so what you had was a company that had lousey drivers purchased by another company that has no idea what they are doing ,its one big cluster F
