I have a new ASUS A7N266-E which has built in video using the same chip as in the NVidia GeForce2. The problem is using the drivers from NVidia or ASUS you have a limited number of choices as to screen resolution. I normally use my 17" monitor in Win ME at 1152 X 864. But this resolution isn't available when using the onboard video on this motherboard. Does someone know of another driver that might work? I know this resolution is available on the card because some of my games allow me to change screen resolutions to 1152 X 864 when using the game.

NO, that is not the problem. Asdf's pro-Linux answer is silly (although WinME is pretty sorry, to be sure -- Win98 is better). I have the same issue running Windows 98. I don't have a solution to the problem per se, but I found a workaround, and actually wouldn't go back if I could.

Go ahead and use 1280x1024 and then use the Display Properties-->Appearance tab to increase your icon display size. You can also increase other font sizes. In IE, if you use it, you can change text sizes in the View-->Text Size menu. I found later that the increased size is a boon, and increasing the font sizes a little offsets the squint factor.

Although to asdf I would ask this: do you have the A7N266-E, are you using the onboard GeForce 2 video and NIC, and are you doing it with Linux without a problem? Which distribution -- Red Hat? I am thinking of getting into Linux (Red Hat), and was actually wondering if anyone has had problems with the A7N266-E and its onboard sound/network with Linux.
