hai, i use pentium 4, win 98, 512 ram, nvidia geforce2 mx 400. 1. when i change power supply, everything fine in 5 minutes, after that my display monitor slow and slow looks like a virus, a little box tons, runnng around and i cant see anything..... 2. i serach on net find maybe the invidia geforce ahave problem and i see the color display only 2 and 16. 3. it ry uninstall nvidia but not sucessfully remove all file, when i try install driver or nvidia geforce when i click message "yes to all" never sucessfully... 4. i see on remove on control panel nvidia already not there... 5. so ICANT install nvidia always fail:( i go to services station computer and ask, and then theirs say i have buy new one VGA card??:( OMG the price is very high in here, iam only a student, so please are people can help me?? thanks yose

Hi Yose, I´ll try to help you, but first I need to be sure I understand wat you wrote, as my english could be worst than yours ;). 1- I´m not sure about what "when i change power supply," means,, "everything fine in 5 minutes, after that my display monitor slow and slow looks like a virus, if after 5 minutes starts to slow down, may be a heating problem,, Check CPU temperarure, clean the fan cooler,,, "a little box tons, runnng around and i cant see anything....." may be naive but, isnt it a screen saver?? ok, I had to check that.. again check your power saving configuration, and the screen power off configuration you have.. if you think it may be a virus scan your system, but it is unlikely that any new virus will mess with win 98 in this days,, but you can check any way. -you are runing win 98. So XP drivers will not help you. may be you have some CD that came with your GF board, else you will need to do some google search. "color display only 2 and 16." I don´t understand this. is it monochrome and 16 colours ???? If you can´t see your GF in the hardware administrator (don´t know how is it named in your language), you may have already uninstalled it. you may see a standard VGA adapter or SuperVGA instead, if this is the case you should try to install drivers for the geforce, if you can´t search arround for somthing to completelly unninstall / remove the old drivers. or try to instal Standard VGA adapters, reboot, and try to install GF drivers again. Anyway the "after 5 minutes slow down" does not seems to be related to a video driver issue.. so you may have more than one problem. heating CPU? heating GF card? Virus? Video driver? good luck

Video card driver problem won't slow down your pc. But the "tons of boxes" you see and "2 and 16" on color display means you have not installed the driver yet or maybe uninstalled it. So try to install the driver again. You can get the latest driver here; http://www.driverneeds.net What makes your PC slow down is a bad hard ware or a bad windows system. So try to fix this issues by first cleaning the hardware especially the video card and memory, try to clean the pins with eraser but just don't touch the pins with your bare hands. Then install a fresh copy of windows 98 or which ever you prefer. installing a fresh copy of windows will eliminate your speculation about viruses cos your disk is now pretty clean. After that if the slowing down problem is still there, I suggest you double check the health of your hard disk, memory, CPU and motherboard. jamcez
