i am looking for the soundmax drivers for the Aopen AK73ProA m/b. the sound keeps going very scratchy and badly distorted. if i pause it for 1-5 seconds it goes ok for 1-2 mins and then kicks off again. it also seems to randomly fast forward music, vcd's and dvd's? dont know why but its beginnin to piss me right off. i am using a duron 800, 128mb MAJ, win98se, 40gb hdd split in to 4 and a geforce2 pro ddr. anyone got any ideas?

cheers

i'm not sure if this is the same thing you guys are facing but i've found that real player is a much more quality product than windows media player.

it may solve your problems.. it solved my scratchiness without having to install new drivers or anything... (i have a compaq pressario 1720us laptop)

similar problems with Win98 SE P4 Intel D845WN motherboard. Only get sound from one channel, ie all sound comes from one speaker. speakers are ok on other pc. In systems info utility says some soundmax drivers not installed, but control panel/systems says all is OK. sound is very scratchy on startup and shutdown. Downlaoding soundmax drivers from Intel now to try & fix. Site is ftp://download.intel.com/design/motherboard/
If this doesn't work i'll just have to put up with one speaker playing all sound.
