Any way to detect hardware in Laptop?

Is there any way of detecting what hardware, and thus what drivers, a pc contains? My father has recently wiped his hard disc and reinstalled windows on his HP Laptop. Unfortunately he does not own the cds containing the drivers for his modem, sound card and graphics card and he doesn't know the makes and models. Can anyone suggest any way of finding out this information and then downloading the correct drivers. Thanks for any help.

Hey Sam.
1. You have to find out the model of your laptop. Usualy, the older HP laptops have model/model numer below the screen or above the keyboard , like "Omnibook" accompanied by teh number. Another way is to look at the bottom of the laptop for Model name and number. (If you have little idea what i am talking about, send me photos of the areas described above and i'll tell you for sure)
2. Go to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/software_drivers.htm
and type the model and the number. It'll come up with drivers selection link.
