Comment:

I have recently reinstalled windows xp and it automatically installs the nvidia 52.16 drivers for my geforce mx420. However, these drivers cause my computer to flash in and out when clicking on certain things. Thus, I installed an older set of Detonator XPdrivers (29.42). These drivers work well, however, windows xp is being super annoying and keeps automatically installin the 52.16 drivers again. Is there any way to stop it from doing this? Thanks in advance!

I had this problem with XP also. This is my major gripe with XP. That is, it wants to take control away from you and do what it thinks is best. The video driver it had me download from Microsoft and use was also crashing my computer. I have the Geforce 4 440. Needless to say my older unsigned beta driver works much better and I am back to running stable now. One way or another you need to remove that video driver or mommy XP will keep loading it. Try Add and Remove in your control panel or go into Hardware manager and back up to an older driver or see if you can remove it completely through your hardware manager.
