Hi, I am connected to my Internet Service Provider (ISP) through a LG Fixed Wireless CDMA Phone model number LG-LSP-340-E which has a built in Internal Modem , The whole circuitry is built around Qualcomm Processor. The built in Internal modem in the phone connects to the COM Port on the pC using a data cable. The driver provided is a LG USB to Serial converter driver . The ISP provided dialer program selects the microsoft generic standard 33,600 modem and installs it as the modem for dialup. What I need !! 1. Microsoft Generic Standard 56K Modem driver instead of the 33.6 K modem, to increase my browsing and download speed. Current Driver file details: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM32.VXD (VCOM.VXD) as displayed in control Panel-> Device Manager-> Modems->properties->Driver -> Driver file details. Please note adding a 19200 bps or 28000 bps or 33600bps modem from the list of standard modem types also enables me to create a new dialup device under Dial-up Networking and connect to the Internet. 2. Device Drivers / Modem Drivers / software to Directly acess and enable Qualcomm Chipset , known to connect at speeds well beyond 1Mbps and has a lot more built in features. I tried contacting LG the manufacturers of the phone to part with the drivers / Data cable and software CD to get to know the true potential of the Fixed wireless phone / Fixed wireless Terminal ( FWP / FWT) as popularly known. They refused saying they were only supplying to OEMs ( Two service providers Locally). Currently the ISP's have only given USB and 33600bps modem drivers to connect to the internet. I searched extensively for Drivers / software for the LG-LSP 340-E and also for the Chipset at the qualcomm site , but could not find it. 3. Please suggest the best accelerating software that would increase my connect / download and browsing speed for the dial up modem. Any help in redirecting me to a website where I can download these drivers and software for 1. and / or 2. above orsuggestions to increase the download and browsing speed would be highly appreciated. Your post is confusing to me, but the best I could ever get out of my wireless phone/computer interface is 19.xx You must understand that a wireless phone is NOT A TELEPHONE. It is a TWO WAY RADIO. As such, it is limited somewhat by bandwidth OF THE RADIO LINK, that is, the actuall two-way link between you and the "cell tower"
