We are regularly facing problems in almost all 40GB Seagate hard drives (5400 and 7200 rpm versions). The problem is:

1. While running FDisk, the partitions appear to have been formed properly, but after a reboot, the logical partitions disappears and we are required to redo the logical partitions.

2. At times, even redoing logical partition fails and the hard drive shows less space than rated.

3. Under FDisk, the invisible logical partition if tried to remove, does not get removed, however, the size of the virtual logical drive is missing from the total hard drive capacity.

Anyone with a solution including Seagate would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards
