OS: DOS Of Course
CPU/Ram: Fast Enough
Comment:

Your computer has ten USB ports, but you complain about it only having one printer port

You consider a mouse to be "virtual reality" technology

You accidentally add switches when writing on a note pad

You know the heartbreak of dragging someone to your computer to show them your latest batch file and they are dissapointed that they don't get any cookies or brownies

You find any of these lame jokes funny

You have some of your own to add below

You use all your imagination to invent new eight character file names, so you can locate them easily, just to discover that you have to open houndreds of files with meaningless names whenever you need to locate a specific file.

You somehow blew up a soundcard playing MP3s through DAmp.

You're working on a networkable pure-DOS Commander Keen fangame.

You begin salivating when shown a new 256-colour VGA tileset.

Alot of your favourite music is stored in a directory named 'MOD Files'.

You work hard at getting on people's good side just so they'll give you their 386 when they buy a new computer.

You have a machine with an AMD 2800 and 1Gb RAM hooked up to a projector and a 5.1 surround sound system, and you're running Power Menu.

You've got your PC speaker routed through your soundcard, which is plugged into a guitar amplifier.

You do things like this: http://jimsoft.cjb.net/sq/

You know you're a DOS Freak when...

Your idea of conserving HD space is deltree /y windows

You know how to put spaces in standard DOS filenames without a disk editor

You successfully configure a Lynx browser to go far beyond a 24 * 80 display

Your hands rarely stray from the keyboard, even when you're on Windows

You memorize the entire ASCII table, and use Alt+number sequences in place of your broken keyboard keys

You create binary executables by manually keying them into DOS edit

You actually wore out the Scroll Lock key first!

(OK, I'll admit those last two are a stretch even for me, but maybe someday there will be hope) ;)

re: post 8 - Creating binary executables in edit.

Probably impossible with edit but the following is possible.

Creating executables in debug.

To some extent, it's actually possible in DOS 7.x (the DOS in Win 9x) via the /<nnn> switch. For example, you could use edit /70 explorer.exe to hex edit Windows Explorer in order to rename the Start button. Granted, it's better to use a real hex editor, but it's handy to know that such tasks can be done in pure DOS.
