I have a very old computer running Windows ME. I want to make it a linux based computer. I downloaded Umbuntu on a CD and placed it in my cdrom. I am not able to get the computer to boot up from my cd, it always defaults to my hard drive. How do I get it to boot from the cd? Thanks for your help.

Depending on the age of the machine, you may want to look over the system requirements before comitting to Ubuntu. It needs quite a bit of horsepower compared to other, "lighter" distros:

And you may (or may not) need to make sure that you've burned the files to CD properly. You likely downloaded an ISO image, and need to make sure that you've created the CD properly.
