I want to be able to transfer files from a windows ME computer to a dos computer. They sit side by side , the windows one has a 3D cad and a cam program and I want to send the G-Code text files to the dos machine which controls the milling machine. What is the most efficient way to do this please?

Get a cable to connect the 2 PCs together using their serial ports. Then run the Dos version of Laplink. Run LL from a dos window on your ME machine.

You probably want to ask this question in the ME forum. I was under the impression that Bastar. . I mean Bill removed DOS function from ME.

Networking the 2 PC wouldn't be that difficult. You can use the DOS client free from MS (WSWGCN.EXE) If you get a NE2000 compatible card this is very simple to setup. Then all you need is a crossover network cable and a card in the ME PC
