I am presently trying to install windows 95 on my nieces computer, it is a 486, yes i know a real old one, but thats all she can get, and I have the boot disk but cant seem to be able to load a driver, with win 98 it will work, but no memory for that. So the cd reader is a NEC CDR1400c, any help would be great. Thank you Can it be all put on one disk and installed like 98 does, why couldnt they do it for win 95 ?
Windows 95 Boot Disks were supplied with CD-ROM Drivers only if the OEM Supplier put them on, Many did not. It was not untill Windows 98 that Microsoft supplied them.
You can use a Win98 Boot Disk to install Windows 95, as the disk does not transfer any files accross. But DO NOT select Large Disk Support (FAT32) unless you have 95B
Or goto www.bootdisk.com and download a 95 CD Boot Disk.
Will I be able to use this Win Cd to fix, My Scandisk and replace some Dll files? I have lost my Win 95 CD. If so I will go to www.bootdisk.com and get it.
