Will not boot from A: or hard drive

When I turned on my IBM/PS2 computer today I got a non system disk or disk error. I then put in a boot disk and it said the same thing. The hard drive light came on while it was booting and the floppy disk light came on also. Does anyone know what might be the problem? If my floppy drive went out wouldn't it still boot from the hard drive & give me a C prompt? Does anyone know how to get into the setup of this kind of machine? Hitting delete does not work. On the front of the case it says IBM personal system 2 model 30. I have checked the IBM site.

I think the problem is that you get a "non-system disk or disk error" error when you turn on your machine. Case closed. Thank you for your time. No, actually I'd try maybe F1 or F10 or maybe even Ctrl+Alt+S (which is an early Packard Bell BIOS - Phoenix - setup keystroke, and hence don't think it'll apply here) to get into the BIOS. Heck, try all of the F(unction) keys just to be safe. If you have no luck in there, just wait. I know there are a number of PS/2 people who post regularly to this forum and I'm sure they can help.

try a different system, and making sure the disk you're using is a boot working disk. - W0rm
