Hey i am a computer newbie so if this sounds a little off or wrong forgive me and please try and bear with me. I try to restart my computer in MS-DOS mode but when i do it it looks as if it is restarting and then the screen goes black and it won't go away. I recently had to restart my computer on my own as i could not get the person who originally set up my computer to do it again. Was i meant to set something up? I am trying to do this as i recently have picked up an old computer game, a classic. Please help and if u do please explain in simple terms. thanks

When at the black screen and if you have a c: prompt, type exit and it will return you to Windows.

Just before Windows starts you need to press F8 and on the list is an MSDOS mode, if you only installed Windows on the PC and not DOS beforehand, you will need to load drivers as certain peripherals will not work in DOS mode. That said the majority of DOS games can be made to run in Windows 9x.
