Could anyone pls tell me how to get into dos from widows 98 Second edition? It's not on the shutdown options as i thought it might be :O(

win98 and 98se don't come with stand alone dos. you can get to dos (command prompt) with a shortcut pointing at c:\windows\command.com or by typing "command" on the run dialog box.
if you meant start the machine with dos rather than windows, hit f8 while booting and select dos.

The best way to get into DOS if you are going to format is to use the startup disk when booting.

2 things to try here
1) Read post above (DOS 7)
2) Goto Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. and create your own DOS Bootdisk
