why would you want such an old program for. dos 6.22 is such a better program. dos 1 has limits to how big a hard drive you can format. like 12 or 20 megabyes.
6.22 is only does program that will work in the year 2000

You are wrong, All versions of MS-DOS 6.0 will accept Year 2000 Dates. Anyway you can always update earler versions with MS-DOS 6.22 Step-Up.
In the first place your BIOS must be Compliant .
Has anyone tested MS-DOS 4.01 or 5.0?

I've tried dos 3.3, 5.0, 6.0, and 6.22. The best of these is without a doubt 6.22, but versions 5.0 and up are good for most anything Dos-related. In 3.3, you cant boot from a disk, cause it wont recognize the hdd. So I recommend sticking with at least 5.0, using 1.0 seems like a waste of time in my opinion

I want all versions of DOS, just to have them. You never know when you might need them.

Mike You are wrong about MS-DOS 3.3 It will recognize a Hard drive, But it must be Formated and Prepared by itself or earler versions. It has problems recognizing HDD Formatted by later versions of MS-DOS only.
Steve.
You do not say why you want version 1.0? Telling you 6.22 is great is OK but if you want it for other perposes or for an OLD machine this is not much help.
