Since you post was deleted, we obviously have no idea what was in it.

If you were asking for pirated software, that would be the reason that it was deleted.

If you posted to the wrong forum, that would be the reason that it was deleted.

If you used profanity, that would be the reason that it was deleted.

If you.....

Hello,

Anyone attempting to post the same question on multiple forums will be faced with an error message explicitly stating that simply changing the message to get around the error will result in both messages being removed. Additionally, the terms and rules of this site which are linked on every post confirmation page say:

"Do not post the same question on multiple forums. Even if the question could apply to the subject matter of more than one forum, choose whichever one best suits your problem and post on that. If you post the same message on multiple forums, all related posts will be removed."

This is why your messages were removed. I don't have anything against you in particular. I just have that policy and intend to enforce it. Before that policy was made, people double posted all the time just to get their question answered more quickly. That's not fair to other users. Two different experts on two different forums shouldn't have to answer the same question for the same user.

@ all...

it wasn't profanity...

I never ask for illegal things...

and yes it was a multiple post but i expressed that it was....

I was even told by others that if I did that it would "elicit" a reply...

thanks

Hello,

I'm not trying to argue the rule. I have explained my rational for the rule and documented it multiple places on the site. Even if you don't agree with it, it was clearly laid out for all to see.

I'm just trying to say why these messages were removed. I don't want to get down to the tiny points of having to say, "Oh this one is OK to be double posted but not this other one." Its too difficult. This is why your messages were removed. Otherwise, the next person who double posts might say, "You let code one do it, what's the difference here?"

Besides, with so many messages posted onto the site everyday, any type of grading scale would be too complicated to make sense to the average user. It would also end up being my own personal judgment, which could fluctuate a little from day to day. A simple rule is much easier for people to understand.

That's unfortunate code one, your posts are always so.. interesting.

Jemuzu - windows 101? As I recall, several folks offered you some pretty extensive help - more like 'DOS 101' though.

Multiple posting is just one problem on any forum but, ask yourself, do you have a better chance of having your question answered with it in the proper forum or with it removed from all forums? I'd just try to follow the rules.
