How do I go about finding out what version of DOS my computer has on it? I reformatted the hard drive and re-installed Windows 3.1 and when I boot it up it tells me that I am running a version of DOS that is incompatable with this version of Windows. PLEASE HELP!

Type Ver [ENTER] at the DOS prompt. You would have had to install some version of DOS in order to install Win 3.1-Maybe your DOS disks were corrupted.
Dr-DOS 7.03 is compatible with Win 3.1. You can download it here.
ftp://ftp.lineo.com/pub/drdos/DR-DOS.703/images/
The following is a text file with download and install directions for Dr-DOS.

You need 5 formatted 1.44 Meg floppy disks.Create a Temporary directory on your hard drive
Download the 5 install disk images
disk01.144
disk02.144
disk03.144
disk04.144
disk05.144Download
mkdskzip.exeDouble click mkdskzip.exe or type mkdskzip.exe from the same temporary directory in DOS.
A few files will be unzipped.
Double click makedisk.exe
Makedisk will give you instructions from there on.
When you are done with all 5 disks, reboot your computer with disk 1 in the floppy drive.
Your DOS installation will begin and you will be prompted for disks.
