Weird MIDI problem

I have an old 486 which I use for playing my old dosgames (Doom, Raptor, etc.). Up until now, the MIDI on my SoundBlaster 16 was working fine, but now I can't hear any MIDI music. I can still hear sound effects, but just not music. This problem sorta appeared out of nowhere, as I haven't touched that machine for about a month and a half (until today, atleast). Help would be appreciated. Thanx.

Check your settings (irq's dma, and also the volume for the MIDI out) I have had a similar problem with my Sounblaster AWE16-32 hardware. usually a quick check-up of the settings and alterations with the games have solved the problem. I'm presuming you have the CTCM and SB16 drivers installed with all the tools and apps?

Have you modified your config.sys or autoexec.bat files recently? Dos sound stuff usually loads there.
