Reply: (edit) You probably do not want to update your bios. Install the BIOS defaults first. I have almost never improved anything and have flashed several BIOSs. If you must: You get the "update" at the website of your motherboard--or the computer company if you bought the computer assembled. The exe file will have FLASH in its name usually. (AWDFLASH.EXE is one of the Award Bios files) This .exe file corrosponds to the COPY command in DOS. The name of your new data file will have a BIN extension. So, basically you enter AWDFLASH and follow the on screen menu. Think of a name for it and save the old BIOS in a file such as OLDBIOS.BIN. Then, have the new bios copied into rom. This is often all there is to it. Sometimes you have to install BIOS defaults in the bios to get the new data in place.

Reply: (edit)Are you sure that you need to update your BIOS to support the new HD? If you are sure you must know first the Manufacturer and EXACT model of your M.B. (this is very important) This page will help you a lot: http://www.wimsbios.com According to your BIOS ID the manufacturer is: FORDLIAN Try this site: - BIOS and MANUALS for Fordliand/RedFox - http://th2chips.host.sk/redfox/ Your seems to be the ALI-AGP one ver. 1.4, download those that matches your BIOS ID string. Try also these sites: http://www.fordlian.com/software/main.html http://www.aprocom.com http://www.redfoxusa.com/ Hope this helps!
