is there a program that will id a video card from dos..?? i have a bunch & would like to find out the details on them.. specifically how much memory is on them..

Patrick,
I found roughly a dozen sites with good, detailed information explaining how to identify unknown video hardware. It took me--quite literally--about five seconds using a very simple Google search. Here are just a few results that turned up:
http://www.pcguide.com/proc/id/video.htm
http://www.windowsreinstall.com/install/msdos/how_to_debug_and_identify_your_v.htm
http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/1180/
http://pub9.ezboard.com/fcoolpcfrm3.showMessage?topicID=119.topic
http://pcsupport.about.com/cs/videocards/
http://www.uktsupport.co.uk/reference/idhware.htm
Remember: search engines are our friends.

Dagul,
Yeah--all you have to do is use DEBUG.exe to look through the adapter ROM. Manufacturers invariably put text in the ROM that can often give you a clue about the make and model of the adapter.
