I have a MBI D6VAA Dual CPU Mainboard with VIA 694X, and 686B chipsets. I am trying to install an ATI RADEON 7200(64Mb) AGP adapter, for use with a GATEWAY2000 CRYSTALSCAN17(AKA MAG DX17F). When I boot, I get a scrambled screen until windows loads, which as you can imagine makes it hard to enter the setup screen. Once windows loads then everything is fine. My other computer has a Jaton 8 Mb PCI adapter and it works. On the VIA site it says consult the manufacturer. Help!

Well, this may sound like a dumb reply, but...
...*have* you contacted the manufacturer?
This is often a wise first course of action.

This does sound like a CMOS setup issue (typically, incorrect BIOS settings cause precisely the issue you desribe), but there's so many wierd, low-level compatibility issues that can crop up between video display adapter and motherboard hardware and firmware, there could be more to the issue--in some rare cases, a motherboard BIOS update or video display adapter BIOS update is even required to solve the problem.
