Comment:

I deletted a load of stuff. When I boot up, the SYSTEM.INE is looking for \dos\vfintd.386. Do I need this file? Everything seems to run without it.

This Compaq came with Windows 98 installed and I copied most of the stuff from my old computer. The older computers migrated from DOS to OS2 to Windows 95. So alot of junk migrated.

Here is a something I found:

"VFINTD.386 is the driver Ditto Tools backup software uses to access the tape drive"

So if you don't have a Ditto tape backup device you might as well get rid.
