Comment: Hi everyone, I wondered if it was possible to use the date var when making a new dir. I'd like to do a backup of several computers and put all the files in one different directory every day on my machine. I thought about making a new dir using the %date% variable, but doesn't seems working... I'm running W2K on my computer Anyone can help me please...please..please.. Cheers

Reply: (edit)Windows/DOS directory names cannot contain slashes. In which case if you tried to use md %date% it will try to create a dir of mm/dd/yy which generates an invalid syntax error.
