Is there any way to use my USB mouse in DOS.
It's a Microsoft Intellimouse explorer.
My PS/2 mouse won't work if my keyboard is plugged in at the same time...strange.
thanx alot

Under real DOS, unless your BIOS and it's setup provides a USB mouse to PS/2 emulation (very few system boards do this) and the DOS mouse driver sees the mouse, then no. So much for USB mice outside of Windows and it Megabyte USB drivers.
PS/2 mouse and keyboard not working when both plugged in can be many things.
1) Keyboard and mouse plugged into wrong plugs. They are the same and can be swapped by mistake. Some systems allow the keyboard to be plugged into either plug, but not he mouse.
2) BIOS CMOS setting not correct for mouse.
3) Power to both devices is supplied throught a common thermister that can be damaged by shorts or overload. And can not handle the load. (Led's on keyboard go off.)
4) Mouse (or even working keyboard) drawing too much power.
Buy a real cheap PS/2 mouse or get a used one off of an old junk system, and use it to test your system and use as a spair.

If you got your Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer new as I did, you would have also recieved a USB to PS/2 Adaptor in the box! With the DOS driver on CD this works fine.
If you do not have the adaptor try a good computer store to buy one.
