Comment:

We use a 386 SBC running a ROM-DOS operating System. On top of that we run a complied executable to control operations of a variable speed drive. We would like to be able to transfer text files from the onboard hard drive to a USB Memory Stick.

We don't really need full USB support, since the only thing that would be supported would be the memory stick.

From what I understand of the shelf USB drivers for this low level a CPU aren't readily avilable. Does anyone have any resources or suggestions on how one might accomplish this seeming simple task? Any source code snipets that could be integrated into our application?

I realize it's a bit like towing a Ferrari with a jalopy, but that is the hardware we're stuck with at the moment. I may be asking for the impossible, but I have a hard time accepting defeat.

Thank you for any suggestions or information. It is Greatly appreciated!!

ROM-DOS 6.22 or 7.10 doesn't have USB support. You can try USB4DOS, which may help:

Try Duse, I've used it and it worked successfully with a SanDisk USB CompactFlash reader. Search Google for DOS USB duse, I think the current version is 4.4 and it also supports USB2 and USB CD-ROMS.
