Comment:

trying to get dos to read from an HP external USB CDR (8290 or generic 8200 ext)
have tried booting with the Panasonic ASPI drivers, the DUSE 4.9, the Motto Hairu (Di10000dd) and USBCD.sys
the message says 'no USB devices found'
obviously I am missing something.
any suggestions?

How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

Firstly does the Panasonic USBASPI.SYS version 2.20 driver recognize the USB controller, probably Intel UHCI ?

Secondly use a try self-extracting WinImage minimal boot disk:

If still fails try AP Softs Point Enabler Demo
