universal sound driver

Hi I want to run some mp3 files in MS-DOS using DOS mp3player, I need driver for my sound card "C-media 8738" , I used the one provieded by the manufacturer but its not working, is the a universal DOS driver that will work with all sound card, mean it will run it as stander card with the basic options ?

May I suggest you go to the CMedia web site they suprisingly offer driver downloads as well as a MP3/Wave player. www.cmedia.com.tw and click on download from the top bar menu, then click on CMI8738, really easy, as easy as posting to this forum!

If the driver does not work then you have set it up wrong, or may I suggest get a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Card in ISA format?

Is your Sound card PCI? try another slot if it is, ISA cards generally work better!
