Hi,

My DOS apparently does not support the command ' Undelete' while i try to recover a file that has been accidentaly deleted. Rather it gives me a msg that says " 'Undelte' is not a recognised internal or external command, oprable program or batch file'. I also tried to use Mirror /tf command so that my DOS keeps track of all the deleted files in F driver. But my system does not recognise this command also.

Does anybody has any idea how to solve this prob??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Both UnDelete & Mirror are MS-DOS External commands that have been removed from the later WinDOS versions. Mirror was removed from MS-DOS 6.0 onwards and is available in the MS-DOS 6.22 Supplemental Files collection, and Undelete was removed from Windows 95 onwards and is available in the OLDDOS collection. Both these archives of older MS-DOS Utilities are available on my PowerLoad MS-DOS Resource Page (Click my link above)

As to if they work on the Windows 2000 Server I do not know?

Let use know if you try??

Hi,

I would appreciate if you can tell me which part to download from your resource page. There are so many things under DOS-downladable utilities that i am totally lost.

From the MS-DOS Resources Page

MS-DOS 6.22 Supplemental Files:
SUP622.EXE
MS-DOS 6.22 Supplemental Files - Including DosShell

Windows 95 Supplemental Files:
OLDDOS.EXE
MS-DOS 7.0 Supplemental Files (For Win9x Includes INTERLINK, MEMMAKER, DOS HELP & Others)

Hope this is of help.

PowerLoad Link as always is at the top of my message. I never provide direct links because I feel that all visitors should come via the front door.

As I wrote before, I have never tested them on MS Server of any version , sorry!

Sometimes you just have to try it...

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you have FAT32 drives or LFN on your drives, please do NOT use the UNDELETE command from MS-DOS 6.xx!! Try UNERASE 2002 from Norton Utilities 2002 instead.

Hi Mick C,

When I clicked on the EXE files they have been installed successfully in the folder that I created on the desktop. But when I tried with the command dosshel or undelete it just did not work. Do you think I did any thing wrong? Or it is just the OS that does not allow these DOS files to be installed properly?

Is there anyway i can install these downloaded files?
