How can I transfer files to a laptop with only DOS installed and a NIC card with no packet known. Do I just use a NE2000 compatible driver? I think what I'll do is use MS networking for DOS or whatever and install via the network. It's getting onto the network that'll be hard. The NIC I have installed is a Mariner 33.6/NIC adapter.

You will need the corect packet driver or if installing NWC3 the NDIS2 driver.

Alternatively use LapLink or similar!

NWC3? I can't afford to go and buy a Laplink cable only to transfer files every now and then. The ethernet would be the best way to transfer files I find.

Network Client 3.0 is a free download from M$ and if you wish to use this software you will need an NDIS2 driver for the NIC.

Details of this and other alternatives at www.wown.com.

Parallel and Serial Cables for peer to peer file transfers are well under a tenner

Will the ".DOS" (which I assume is the NDIS driver) that comes with it work under the MS-DOS network client, even though the file comes from Windows 3.11 or Windows 95 drivers?

Goto:

(when he reactivates it)

He has Version 7.51 Network Bootdisk which is easy to use.

Cheers
