I have a TOSHIBA T1200 NOTEBOOK
Here are the system specs:
20MB HD
1 720K floppy disk drive
LCD displayAnyways, the laptop is having a very difficult time recognizing the HD even if i switch the HD button to ON from the back of my laptop. It boots up with the following:
640 KB RAM
Disk Controller FaliureThe floppy drive works fine and I can boot from that. This is the model of the HD:
JD-3824ROT1
If anyone could assist me, please do so. I have disassembled this system and have tried to figure this out but I have no clue what to do.

Disk controller failurer means it can not find the hard drive, therefore either the hard drive is US, the connectors to the hard drive are faulty, or maybe the MoBo is faulty, you need to check all of them.
Lastly the BIOS battery is not dead is it? and it is resetting to default?
