I got a Toshiba Satellite T2135CS and when i power it up i hear the hard drive doing something for like a total of four seconds and it sounds like it is booting but nothing comes up on monitor and does not boot. Power lite will come on but stops there and hard drive blinks once right after it is turned on. Thought it might be motherboard so replaced with a tested used board, still no help. But the tested board is used and did come form another source and could be as bad as the one i took out not sure.. they both do the same problem..What I wonder if there is anything, or what would cause it not to power up to lite up monitor and boot.. it doesnt not even try to check the floppy..Been trying desperatly to fix it so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks..Jim

Thanks for replying Ergmiester,
No beep at all its like the motherboard is not powering up. Have tried ext. monitor but nothing displays. When it is started the ext monitor will flicker so I know it is trying to communicate with it. If i listen real close it like i hear it like it is booting but no display..

Check the battery voltage for shorted cells. This will prevent the computer from starting on ac power. Next thing to check is the bios battery, 3 volts. Uunplug the suspend battery
