Thank you guys! i did all yall told me to. but it didnt' work. i even reinstalled dos 6.22. but it didn't work. still can't boot from hard drive. but i can c em while booting up with floppy

Reply: (edit)Go into the bios of your computer and double check to make sure it is set to boot from the hard disk. I'm not sure exactly where you should look as a lot of BIOS screens are very different. Should see an option that allows you to choose the boot device, whether it is the floppy disk or hard drive. Also if you have a newer motherboard, you may have the option of booting to the CD, or possibly even a zip disk or other external device. Just make sure it's set to boot to the hard drive (also it may say c: ). If it IS set to boot to the hard drive already. The next thing to try is to boot to an MS-DOS boot disk, then type the following: SYS A: C: And that will transfer the boot files to the hard drive and make it bootable. Although installing MS-DOS on the hard drive should have already done this. Hope that helps, -Michael

Reply: (edit)And also check with fdisk if your HD has an active flag. If not, do it. So the computer will know from wich drive hi will start.
