Have installed a SB LIVE VALUE CT2940 and on boot up the screen says it has been found and configured correctly.
Can anyone suggest a small utility for DOS that can play some music to test the card with. The SB driver disk does not have a small test program with it.

Could try SBPlay - you'd need a sound file to check out.

Few more here (some dead links maybe)

SB cards typically setup a few variables in the DOS environment from autoexec.bat - mainly a SET BLASTER= statement

I usually just install the old Wolfenstein to test digital sound & midi.

jboy. Thanks for tips. SBplay got card working and the freeware download of Wolf sure gives it a good work out.

That's great.

Yeah, the classic Wolfenstein (besides being fun) makes a good test - there's hardly any setup required for the sound and it's a quick install.

There's also Allegro sound setup which comes with a few of the (excellent) DooM source ports - it has a test function as well.
