I am helping a gentleman who has been using a Tandy 1000 TL/2 daily since 1989. This is an 80286 IBM compatible running at a blistering 8 MHz with a whopping 460k of RAM! It finally quit, but I was able to get it up & running long enough to recover his data & the contents of the C:\Desk directory.
My thought is to put DOS on an old Pentium 100 I have laying around & then install DeskMate to give him access to his data.
My problem is that I don't have the installation floppy for DeskMate though I do have all of the files from his directory, including program files. I have looked high & low for this program on eBay (found version 2 only), used software sellers like "Recycled Software" & Googling to no avail.
Do any of you know where this program can be obtained, or how to use the files from his present machine on the new installation to run the program.
I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who is familiar with the DeskMate program & who could offer insight into this issue.
You can reach me at Dave_Sparks77(at)hotmail.com
TIA
~Dave

I really appreciate your post & the effort you put into searching! Two people looking is better than one :)
However, I had already found those particular links with the results posted below;

I found this one, but the download link is dead :(http://www.sunrizen.com/resumes/resume.htm
I e-mailed David A. Kalman, one of the developers whose resume is linked above. I have not heard from him as yet.http://www.old-games.com/pc/utilities/personal_deskmate.html
I found this one as well & tried to download it. It requires a nominal fee of $3 for a single day access. I tried to click the link to pay & received a “page cannot be displayed” error :(
I am having NO luck at all it seems.
