Of course YES!
Since Windows 3.11 and Windows 95 are just GUIs on top of DOS, you can just install MS-DOS 7.0 or MS-DOS 7.10 to start them as GUI.
Here is MS-DOS 7.10 Full Edition with Installer:
http://newdos.yginfo.net/msdos71.htm

If you install DOS then W3.1 then W95 certain files are overwritten by W95.
The easiest way to install DOS/W3.x and W95 is to use a boot manager.
XOSL is "free" http://www.xosl.org/

Lets go back to basics!
If you install MS-DOS 6.22 followed by Windows 95. Windows will create its own boot Manager to enable dual boot. You can then load Windows 3.1 in a differant directory (folder) called say C:\Win31 and both will work.
However you do not need to install 6.22 first if you do not want to. Just install 3.1 as above.
Wengier, Why install MS-DOS 7.0? since Windows 95 will installl it for you?
X86, A Boot Manager is not a bad idea idea however!

I'd create two partitions on the hard drive, one for 3.1 and one for '95. Then use a boot loader, XOSL is great, for choosing which to boot when you start the computer.
Best Luck,
Bob

YES XP has a built in boot loader and providing it is installed on a seperate partition or drive it will find MSDOS.
Bear in mind though that MSDOS up to version 7.0x / W3.xx / W95A can only recognise and install on FAT 12/16 partitions natively, whereas W95 B&C / W98 (MSDOS 7.1x) can recognise FAT 12/16 and 32 partitions.
XP can recognise all versions of FAT and NTFS.
Personally would look at installing W95 B/C or W98 on FAT32 and changing the boot file as explained under MSDOS 7.xx here:
http://www.mwpms.uklinux.net/opage4.htm
so have choice of booting DOS then WindowsYou should be able to also install W3.x to a folder using the 3XSTART.exe file at bottom of this page:
http://www.oldstuff.myagora.net/powerload/win3x.htmXP should be OK dual booting if you use PRO VERSION, HOME VERSION is an upgrade for W98SE!
Hope this makes sense and someone else can clarify what I have written!

Yes. But the MS-DOS 7.10 Installer I mentioned above will do all of these works automatically! Including a great patched version of IO.SYS(not only 3xStart patched)!

Ok..
I did a quick format on my hard drive on the 486 computer and cleared all partitions. The hard drive is clean and ready to be partitioned and formatted..
Before I do anything I want to know more about XOSL that "x86" recommended. The problem I am having is that I don't know where to start. The manual for XOSL only tells how to install the program, I don't know if I have to install Windows first, or Dos first, or what?
Just to let everyone know what operating system I'm installing is MS-DOS 6.22, Windows 3.11, and Windows 95.
Please help me out because I want to be at lest 90% sure what I am doing before I do anything..
P.S.
Thanks for being helpful everybody.
