Hey guys, I'm trying to setup a script to setup printers to print from DOS. The only problem is that the user can't run the program because of access violations. However, I can get them to map the network printers to LPT2: . Now, I'm trying to find a way that they can still print by using the PRINT command without the lpt2 switch. Is there any way to make DOS see lpt2: as the default printer without extra software. Didn't know if there was anyway just in dos. Thanks for any help in advance.

Check out the MODE command.

In dos this allows you to swop ports around.

I regularly use it to change from my standard 80 col on LPT1 to 132 col on COM2, and I have set up a batch file to do this.

Good luck - Keep us posted.
