I have set up Client for dos on a desktop pc. Whenever I try to get into the D: drive from the other computer on the network (running Win95), I get the message 'the specified path does not exist' Both the A: and C: drives are accessible from the other computer ( a laptop ) via thir network drive names of E and F respectively. Is there anything I have to do to make the CDrom readable on the other PC? I know the cdrom is install correctly on the dos pc because I can call up the D:\ prompt and run dir etc.
CD-ROMs always cause problems. They don't even use FAT but some virtual blahaj that only mscdex understands. I haven't ever understood why CD's aren't formatted like a diskette drive or something.
Now, what networking software are you using?
The thing is, that your network software probably doesn't support CD-ROM sharing, and you can tweak it forever and it won't work. Get something else.
