I have a folder named "Program files" under c:, which is fine with windows. But I didn't foresee the problem with DOS, because DOS doesn't recognize the blank space between a folder or file name. So now that I want to include "c:\Prgram files\jdk1.3\bin into the PATH, DOS just won't recognize it.
I don't want to rename the folder's name because I have already put too much stake in it. I just can't imagine what kind of devastating effect it will have since the folder contains lots of application files.
Is there any way to get around this?
Thanks.

In windows right click and look at the folder properies you should see a shortened dos name. Something like program~1.

Just put that name in your path.

You are right in assuming that DOS does not recognise the space. It is also limited to 8 characters.

Your path should read thus - C:\Progra~1\folder\etc. . .

Good Luck . . .

:o)
