Hello ! My dear computer (win95/OSR2) worked fine util two days ago. Now I can't start a dos prompt, but get an error about the graphic being wrong. My sound card isn't found anymore and I cant' shutdown the computer properly since msgsrv32 isn't responding. What can this be ? I've tried removing and replacing sound drivers but that doesn't seem to help. Yesterday I tried to reinstall Win95 but the installation program crasches ! Please help me !!

Boot up your computer and tap F8 whiel it says starting windows 95 (start before that) go to safe mode only... or you could try go command prompt safe mode only to boot straight to dos, see if that helps. If windows start/shutdown properly when you put it in safe mode then its definitely something wrong with either a TSR or a program you are loading in the process. On the othe rhand it could be a virus, these days you try to look into your auti virus software's virus library there's no end to it... Use scandisk in Windows/DOS if possible Get like microsoft reg clean or something that could check your registry... Beyond that I can't help much Hope that'll fix it
